From 7–13 December 2025, the 20th Session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO is taking place in New Delhi, India.

As part of the Cultural Workshop’s involvement as a member of the committee of non-profit organizations that act as an advisory body to the UNESCO Committee for Intangible Cultural Heritage, it has been actively participating in the preparation of the session since 2012.
On this year’s opening day, it will also participate with a presentation related to one of the Cultural Workshop’s activities.
The term “Chorostasi” as an example of inclusive transmission and safeguarding of cultural heritage
The presentation introduces the “Chorostasi” Model, a community-based approach for inclusive safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH).
The term Chorostasi—the Greek word for “threshing floor”—historically refers to a communal space where social boundaries dissolved through shared celebration with dance, music, and expressive practices. It embodies an open circle of participation, collective ownership, and mutual respect.
