{"id":5041,"date":"2026-05-03T00:30:12","date_gmt":"2026-05-02T22:30:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/politistiko-ergastiri.org\/?page_id=5041"},"modified":"2026-05-10T11:18:38","modified_gmt":"2026-05-10T09:18:38","slug":"volu_m_e-and-the-constellation-explained","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/politistiko-ergastiri.org\/index.php\/volu_m_e-and-the-constellation-explained\/","title":{"rendered":"Volu.M.E and The Constellation &#8211; explained"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2>Volu.M.E &amp; The Constellation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3>Building Quality in International Volunteering<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In our projects and reports, we frequently refer to two key concepts: <strong>\u201cVolu.M.E\u201d<\/strong> and <strong>\u201cThe Constellation.\u201d<\/strong><br>These interconnected initiatives reflect over a decade of strategic work in training, cooperation, and quality development within international volunteering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2022, this work has been further strengthened through the <strong>Youth Accreditation (KA150)<\/strong> awarded to <strong>Politistiko Ergastiri Ayion Omoloyiton (Cyprus)<\/strong>, <strong>EJBW (Germany)<\/strong>, in collaboration with <strong>Pro Vobis (Romania)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2>Volu.M.E \u2013 Volunteer Management Enhanced<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Volu.M.E (Volunteer Management Enhanced)<\/strong> was developed to respond to a growing need: supporting organizations and individuals in deepening their understanding and practice of <strong>Volunteer Management<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Designed primarily for organizations with prior experience in hosting or coordinating EVS\/ESC projects, Volu.M.E focuses on advancing expertise through:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Exchange of good practices and challenges<\/li><li>Development of practical tools<\/li><li>Strengthening competences in volunteer support systems<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A central pillar of the initiative is <strong>mentoring<\/strong>, recognized as a key element in ensuring quality volunteer experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>A Long-Term Learning Approach<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The first Volu.M.E activity took place in <strong>April 2014 in Lefkosia, Cyprus<\/strong>, followed by a seminar in <strong>March 2015<\/strong>. From the outset, the initiative adopted a <strong>long-term, structured approach<\/strong>, combining training courses and follow-up seminars within the same project framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By involving the same partner organizations\u2014and often the same participants\u2014this model fostered:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Continuity and deeper learning<\/li><li>Stronger cooperation between partners<\/li><li>Sustainable development of competences<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3>Growth, Recognition, and Impact<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the past decade, Volu.M.E has evolved into a <strong>dynamic network of youth workers and organizations<\/strong>, united by shared values and learning goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This collaboration has led to the creation of numerous tools and resources tailored to grassroots organizations, including materials such as the <strong>\u201cTreasure Box for Mentors\u201d<\/strong> developed with Pro Vobis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The initiative\u2019s impact has been widely recognized:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Cyprus National Agency<\/strong> supported a national TCA (Limassol, 2015)<\/li><li><strong>German National Agency<\/strong> supported a series of activities under EJBW (Weimar, 2017\u20132018), including:<ul><li>Volu.M.E Training Course \u2013 March 2018, Germany<\/li><li>Volu.M.E Seminar \u2013 June 2018, Cyprus<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Between <strong>2014 and 2021<\/strong>, the partnership implemented <strong>9 Erasmus+ KA1 training activities<\/strong>.<br>Following the introduction of Youth Accreditation in 2022, an additional <strong>16 activities (2022\u2013August 2025)<\/strong> have been carried out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The consistently high number of applicants\u2014and frequent returning participants\u2014demonstrates both the <strong>relevance<\/strong> of the topics and the <strong>trust<\/strong> in the methodology. Key themes such as <strong>Volunteer Management, Mentoring, and Competence Development<\/strong> remain central to the programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2>The Constellation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Building on the success of Volu.M.E, and in response to the need for <strong>sustained, high-quality cooperation<\/strong>, a new initiative was launched: <strong>\u201cThe Constellation.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Formally established in <strong>August 2024<\/strong>, The Constellation is an <strong>informal network of eight NGOs<\/strong> from Romania, Italy, France, Germany, and Cyprus. Its mission is to provide <strong>high-quality training opportunities<\/strong> for organizations implementing <strong>ESC and Erasmus+ projects<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>A Collaborative and Strategic Model<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Constellation operates through a <strong>shared long-term strategy<\/strong>, based on common values, quality standards, and coordinated mobility activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each training activity follows a collaborative structure:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>2 Lead Trainers<\/li><li>1 Junior\/Assistant Trainer<\/li><li>1 Support Staff Member<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This rotational model ensures:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Equal participation among partner organizations<\/li><li>Balanced use of expertise<\/li><li>Stronger collective impact<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3>From Strategy to Practice<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Training priorities are first defined collectively within the network, ensuring alignment with long-term goals.
