The Cultural Workshop Agion Omologiton successfully held, as part of its film activities, on January 29 and 30 (Friday and Saturday) an online conference aimed mainly at teachers, about Film Education. The conference was organized in collaboration with the International Film Center for Children and Youth (CIFEJ) and with the support of the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth.

The conference included presentations by individuals and representatives of institutions and organizations, who addressed mainly the educators in Cyprus, but also other stakeholders from Cyprus and Greece, about film education, its importance, ways to be included in schools and other related issues.

More than ninety-five people.

ANDRIA XENOFONTOS – Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth

ANNA TSIARTA – Cyprus Pedagogical Institute

PETROS CHARALAMPOUS – Film and theater director and artistic director of the children’s section of the Cyprus Film Days Festival

Dr. KOSTAS KONSTANTINIDIS – Associate Professor of Film Studies, Department of Communication, University of Nicosia

CHRISTIANA VARDA – founder of the non-profit organization Media What

IRENE ANDRIOPOULOU – Member of the EU Media Literacy Expert Group of the EU, Secretary General of UNESCO MIL Alliance and executive of EKOME, in the Department of Research, Studies and Educational Programs.

Certificates of attendance by CIFEJ will be presented to the participants.

The conference started on Friday at 4pm to 6pm and ended on Saturday from 10am to 1:30pm.
